Increased Business Opportunity

Increased Business Opportunity

In 2013 more than 50% of business have utilised the internet to improve sales and target a wider range of audiences, for example using  social media sites such as Facebook are an effective way to advertise businesses to consumers using the site. It has been proven that businesses that regularly communicate via emails to customers have a better company/customer relationship and therefore increased sales and profit. The internet has provided an opportunity for businesses which is helpful for sales and relationships with employees and customers.

  1. Businesses are also able to communicate to customers via there own email, or by chat rooms or forums on their websites, which allow them to view people's concerns and worries. However websites can break, or something can go wrong, so the fact that businesses rely so heavily on websites, can be the downfall of their company.

  2. I agree with these comments but with more companies using online stores to improve their sales and increase customer service as the customer does not have to leave their home. The bad thing about this is that these companies start to make more money from the websites than the store so unemployment grows as people are not needed.

  3. I believe that emails are the most effective way of communication between businesses and their customers/employees as it creates a more personal platform which could encourage sales on a personal level and also most importantly, emails are the most formal way of communication, so companies are still formal despite being personal to the customers.

  4. These comments above tell me that emails are a useful technique used by businesses as they are personal however they are still formal so businesses stay professional to the customers and their employees. Websites are a useful way to communicate but a major downfall is that if the website crashes for any reason the company will lose a vast amount of business the longer the website is down, the more profit the company will lose.
